Sharla Paso
For nearly 31 years, Sharla has dedicated her life to nursing, a path inspired by her father's encouragement during her early days at community college. Nursing has become more than just a career for her; it's woven into her very identity. Beyond her professional pursuits, Sharla is a devoted wife and mother. To maximize family time, she pursued higher education, earning a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in Women's Health/Perinatal Clinical Nursing. Her leadership skills were sharpened during the COVID pandemic as she managed the Clinical Education team at OHSU.

As owner of Medical Vocational Planning, Sharla learns about the various causes of harm to people, both within and outside the healthcare system, through the legal cases her company handles. She uses her expertise to actively decrease morbidity and mortality caused by healthcare errors by sharing her findings and knowledge with her healthcare colleagues.
Sharla believes that every role and experience in life is a step towards something better. For her, this led to founding and becoming the executive director of Listen Line Community Services, a nonprofit mental health crisis helpline and education service. Listen Line focuses on listening to individuals in need and removing barriers to mental health knowledge and care. The organization advocates for destigmatizing mental health and prioritizing both mental and physical well-being.
