I started web design way back in 2016 because, frankly, the corporate world wasn't for me. The pointless politics, the rigid schedules, someone telling me when I could grab a bite to eat? Hard pass! I craved freedom – in my day, in my mind, in my life. I wanted to work on my own terms, with people I genuinely enjoyed.
But my "why" has definitely evolved. It's not just about my freedom anymore. It's about liberation – for all of us. I truly believe that small businesses can be a force for good in the world. When you have a business that's built on intention, that actually gives you the freedom and resources to thrive, you can make a REAL difference.
My values have shifted too. Don't get me wrong, freedom in the form of flexibility is still awesome. But now, community is HUGE for me. We're all in this together, and supporting each other is how we rise up. Liberation for all, dismantling systems of oppression, and community care – that's what I'm about.

I spent my 20s building a business that would give me freedom. In my 30s, that same business has supported me with 10-20/hours a week despite going through a pandemic, five moves, a huge breakup, dropping everything to stay with my mother in the hospital for days, losing a loved one to cancer, and surprise surgery. But because my business ran smoothly enough to no longer consume my life, I was able to do all of that and continue building and giving back to my community.
